Contract term: Full time, permanent
Required: January 2025
Salary: GDST’s Middle Leader pay scale
Norwich High School for Girls wishes to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and inspiring graduate to lead its thriving Drama department. The successful candidate should be passionate, inspirational and have the initiative and drive to develop the high profile that the department already enjoys in school. Drama and music are integral to the life of Norwich High School and there are a huge range of productions throughout the year that cross both.
GCSE Drama is a popular subject at Norwich High School and we have a number of students who decide to carry on the subject and take A level Drama and Theatre or BTEC Performing Arts so experience of teaching the A level or BTEC is essential. Candidates will need to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team, which includes a part time drama teacher and the music department. They should have experience and willingness to collaboratively lead small-scale and large scale productions. Within the department all year groups have the opportunity to perform during the year, be that in the bi-annual whole school musical, intermediate play, senior plays and the popular Showstopper!
